Salman Agha Opens Up on Viral No Handshake Incident

The No Handshake Controversy took over the internet by a storm in the Asia Cup 2025. It was India and Pakistan, where neither of the teams shook hands with each other. This was a move by the Indian team, as they wanted to honour the victims of the Pahalgam attack. 

Now, Salman Agha has opened up about this incident. In a podcast, he revealed how things unfolded between the two teams. Agha revealed that a handshake happened during the trophy shoot, and things were expected to be normal during the toss. But the match referee informed him before the toss that such things can't take place right now. 

He continued by saying, “When I went for the toss, the match referee took me aside and said, “Friend, this handshake will not happen like this, so please see to it.” I said I am also not interested in shaking hands. They told me in advance that there was no handshake, and after that, the match ended. We lost, and we were heading to his pavilion for a handshake. They still didn’t shake hands.”

While the Pakistani skipper has given his say on the no handshake incident, Suryakumar Yadav is yet to issue a clarification to what he said. Some viral videos also showcased that the handshake happened between Suryakumar and Salman Agha at the trophy shoot, but it didn't happen in the matches. This controversy took over the internet by a storm in 2025, but it has now been revived again by Agha with his statements.
