Mushfiqur Rahim has once again dominated Pakistan in the second test. Scoring yet another century, he even broke a record which was held by Mominul Haque. Now, Rahim holds the record of most Test centuries scored by a Bangladeshi player.

Bangladesh is once again dominating over Pakistan in the second Test, as they inch closer to secure a series win. If there is a batsman who has consistently stood for the team in this series, it is Mushfiqur Rahim. Even in this test, he failed to score well in the first innings but made a dominant comeback in the next.

He has scored 132 runs already till the 101 overs of the game, bringing up yet another century. This will surely be helpful for Bangladesh, as the team aims to get a series win over Pakistan and rank up in the WTC standings. But this has also turned out to be a ton which has helped him to make a record in the Bangladesh cricket history in Test format.

For a long time, Mominul Haque held the record of a player with the most centuries for Bangladesh in Tests, with 13 centuries. After scoring a ton against Pakistan, Mushfiqur Rahim has been able to overtake Mominul Haque in this record and get it to his name. He has now scored 14 tons for the team across all formats.

Our Take

Mushfiqur Rahim has played an important role for Bangladesh, not just in this Test match against Pakistan, but all the times when he has been there for the team. As he overtakes Mominul Haque in this record, it remains to be seen how far he would be able to take the same by scoring more and more tons before he retires. At the same time, the Pakistan Cricket team will have to look at their flaws and ensure that they come back stronger.
