Workload Management Debate Returns After Injury Concerns in IPL 2026
This IPL saw mediocre performances from the Indian players who were mainly a part of the T20 World Cup squad. Reports claim that the majority of these players were having injury issues but were still made to play. This includes the names of players such as Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah.
The IPL 2026 has come to an end for various Indian players who were a part of the T20 World Cup. While their performances were not up to the mark, they were at their finest when India won the T20 World Cup less than 3 months ago. Now it has been reported that some of the players in the team were facing issues in the IPL but still made to play.
Bumrah was reportedly having a niggle in the knee but still made to play games. Even though he joined the team late, he trained two days before the opener and still went on to play 13 games. For Varun Chakravarthy, it is being reported that he played with a hairline fracture but the physios of KKR didn't raise any issue for the same.
The same even goes for the RR captain, Riyan Parag. He was not fully fit but still made to play the must win game for Rajasthan Royals. Arshdeep Singh also had not fully recovered, as he had some restrictions in his body throughout the season. But still, he was made to play for the team.

The workload management issues have now started to rise up. While these are just reports, the availability of players in the future series would decide whether these reports were true or not. But taking a look at their performances, it can be noted that these players were not at their absolute best.
