The smart goggles have gained a lot of popularity over the last few months. Even various cricketers were wearing such devices when they used to play matches for their teams. But the BCCI Anti Corruption Unit has taken a strict action on the same, banning the use of these items.

The BCCI has taken another bold move to ensure that the game remains fair for each and every team. Over the past few months, something which gained a lot of popularity was the smart goggles, particularly by Meta and Rayban. These goggles have AI built in them, which helps the players in various methods.

They were able to ask questions to the AI, which even communicated the accurate answers for the same. But now, the BCCI has realised that it could have an impact on the integrity and fairness of the game. As a result, the usage of smart goggles has now been banned by the BCCI across all formats of the game at all levels.

Whether someone is engaged in domestic cricket or international, they won't be allowed to use the smart goggles anymore. These devices have now been identified as audio, video recording and communication devices, due to which they have been banned to be used by the players.

Our Take

A few weeks back, Virat Kohli collaborated with Oakley Meta to promote their smart goggles. Even in that video, he asked the glasses to tell about the ground and its dimensions, which was told accurately to him. Some fans think that the reel posted by Virat Kohli was one of the reasons why this happened. But the BCCI went on to assess the various uses of such glasses, after which they were able to know that it could have an impact on the game to a great extent.
