Emerging footballer Dalima Chhibber has taken the next step in her promising career by signing for the Bisons Women’s team and will be participating in the U Sports National Championships donning her University’s colours. The 21-year-old is a regular Indian international and has immense potential.

Dalima Chhiber has moved to Canada to pursue Sports Psychology course in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management at the University of Manitoba as her graduation program. This will give a chance to the upcoming talent to also represent the college and take part in the prestigious university-level tournament, the U Sports National Championship.

Bisons had reached the Canada West Select Six in the 2016-17 season which so far remains their best-ever campaign in the competition. They will be hoping to use the 21-year old’s talent and experience at the highest level to great effect in the event.

“I am very excited to welcome Dalima to Canada, the U of M, and our Bisons women’s soccer program She is, to date, the most experienced international player that our program has had the honour to recruit. I anticipate that she will make a significant positive impact in terms of team performance and team culture both on and off the field,” Bisons head coach Vanessa Martinez Lagunas was reported saying by Scroll.in.

Chhiber had made her international debut at the tender age of 18 against Maldives in the 2016 South Asian Games. Since then, she has become a regular starter for the team first came into the limelight with her performances in the SAFF Women’s Championship earlier this year. She guided her team to the trophy while being adjudged the competition’s Most Valuable Player.

“I chose the U of M because it has a great faculty with professors who have done some amazing research work. I have also read about the university online. The Bisons soccer team is one of the best university teams I have heard of and is managed by highly qualified coaches and staff,” the University website quoted the youngster.
