Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham has claimed that the Blues can challenge both Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title this season. The Stamford Bridge side have undergone a difficult start under new boss Frank Lampard losing their first two games to Manchester United and Liverpool.

Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham is hopeful that the Blues can challenge both Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title this season. That is despite their issues with a transfer ban, the loss of Eden Hazard and with a new manager in Frank Lampard. The former Derby County manager has endured a tumultuous start to his career as a Chelsea boss.

This includes losses to both Manchester United and Liverpool in Lampard’s first two games in charge, which has seen him come under fire. But despite the outcomes, Abraham believes that Chelsea have more than enough to do well in the Premier League this season, even challenge for the title.

“A lot of the boys see the way he wants us to play and we tried to play like that against Liverpool,” Abraham said in an interview with the Guardian. “We showed glimpses of what we can do. We’re a threat, we’re good defensively and we can attack. We just have to build on it. The whole team fills me with confidence. Every training session, before every game, they always lift me.

“I just have to push on this season and hopefully we can be up there to fight for the title. We would have liked to win the final and at United but it is still early doors. There is still a long season ahead and we are still in big competitions as well. It’s about how we react now. The points on Sunday will be massive for us,” the 21-year-old concluded.
