AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das has revealed that all confusion related to the Indian Super League and I-League clubs’ spot in the Asian Football Confederation would be answered on October 14. He has invited I-League and ISL clubs to Kuala Lumpur to unveil the roadmap for Indian football.

After almost half a year of arguments and confusion, a solution would most likely be going to be offered in the meeting at the AFC headquarters on October 14 at 10 am. AIFF would be presenting the roadmap after they have consulted with AFC as was written by Das to all the I-League clubs and the Football Sports Development Ltd (FSDL).

"All doubts will be cleared on October 14. We have come up with a roadmap which will be presented to all the stakeholders in Malaysia. It will be premature to say anything more at the moment," said Das, reported TOI.

However, there wouldn’t be any changes in the top-tier position of the ISL clubs, which was decided by AIFF a while back, wherein they would play the AFC Champions League. However, the biggest concern has been whether the second-tier I-League clubs would get a spot in the AFC Cup.

While AIFF had a plan for that in place, the AFC didn’t quite accept it. And now, TOI has reported that the All India Football Federation has made a special arrangement with the AFC for the next three years owing to a little bit of "restructuring" needed to be done by AIFF.

It has also been reported that Das and AIFF president Praful Patel have had extensive talks with AFC general secretary Windsor John in Mumbai last month, which was followed by another round of discussions when the federation officials visited Kuala Lumpur. India have only two slots for Asian club competitions.
