Five-time Premier League winner Patrice Evra has revealed that he is in talks with Manchester United over joining the club as a coach. The 38-year-old retired from football at the end of last season and has been working on his coaching badges at United’s training ground over the last few months.

The former Manchester United captain retired from football in July of this year and since then has been working on getting his coaching badges at the club’s training ground. While he only announced his retirement in July, Evra had been without a club since leaving West Ham at the end of the 2017/18 season. He signed for the club just days after the 2018 January window shut down and made only five appearances.

However, his eight-year spell at Manchester United is what Evra will always be known for with the Frenchman winning five Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy among other trophies. And the Frenchman went on to admit that he is in talks with his former club over a move back as a coach but they still need to knock out the final details.

"I'm having some important talks behind the scenes and we'll decide whether I will work for the club in a certain role or not we'll see. But I want to make it clear because some people think I'm already working for United but no, there's been some talks. But at the moment I'm only doing my badges," he told Sky Sports.

"If I come back to the club it's not just to put my face on it, it's to make sure that the club is going back to being the best club in the world. As a player I sacrificed my life to succeed at this club. I don't know which role I have but I will do the same,” concluded the 38-year-old.
