Arsene Wenger has revealed that he would be open to managing a national side at 2022 World Cup, with the Frenchman still unemployed. The Arsenal legend left the club after 22 years in May 2018 and has yet to take a job as manager even though he has made appearances as a pundit last season.

Since leaving Arsenal at the end of the 2017/18 season, Arsene Wenger has slowly walked back into football, revealing that he was taking a break from management. The Frenchman was at the helm of the North London side for 22 years before his departure, leaving as their most successful manager, winning his fair share of trophies over the years.

However, since then Wenger has taken a step back from management but he has made a few appearances as a football pundit during last season’s Champions League. That might change in the near future, with 69-year-old going on to reveal that he’s open to managing a national side at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

"I could see myself working for a team. I will have enough time (and) distance with my last job (to give me perspective), and I would not be against that," Wenger told beIN SPORTS.

“It will be interesting to see how they develop, but overall I must say I always wanted to go to the World Cup because I felt it is the job of a manager to be where the best football players in the world play football  Hopefully, you will see me, touch wood, in Qatar in three years’ time," concluded the former Monaco boss.
