Indian Super League 2018-19 runner-up FC Goa have decided to buy back 21-year-old enforcer Amey Ranawade for a second season after he had last played for them in the 2017-18 campaign. In other transfers, Mumbai City FC have roped in Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Larbi for the upcoming season.

Born in Mumbai, Ranawade had made a name for himself before he was taken in by the AIFF Regional Academy in Goa, which later saw the defender represent India in the U-17 and U-20 age groups and also move to the now-defunct DSK Shivajians.

FC Goa had signed Ranawade for the 2017-18 campaign previously but the then young player didn’t make a single ISL appearance. He, however, got a chance to prove his mettle in the Goa’s 2018 Super Cup semi-final match against East Bengal.

Though Goa didn’t retain him, Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan did, where the player helped them to win the league. Ranwade has been versatile at the back being able to play both as the centre-back as well as the right-back.

Mohamed Larbi, on the other hand, would be a very different acquisition. The 32-year-old Tunisian midfielder played for his native side Esperance Tunis last season, whom they helped them to win the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

A product of France’s FC Nantes' youth academy, Larbi has the experience of playing with former Premier League star Dimitri Payet. An attacking midfielder by nature, Larbi has played for numerous clubs like Ajaccio, FC Sochaux, and others. Larbi also has four international caps and would be looking forward to partnering with compatriot Amine Chermtiti.
