TRAU FC appoint Cyprot Dimitris Dimitriou as their head coach

Newly promoted I-League side TRAU FC have roped in Cyprot Dimitris Dimitriou as their head for the 2019-20 season. The Imphal-based club qualified for the top tier tournament after winning the second division I-League last season having piped Chhinga Veng, Ozone FC and Lonestar Kashmir FC.

TRAU FC announced the new signing on their official Twitter handle along with his credentials. The 49-year old has already worked with English club Manchester City and the Irish national team. Dimitris holds a UEFA Pro Coaching Licence and has already arrived in Manipur on Thursday.

The I-League side has already named Aciesta Sports Alliance Private Limited as his title sponsor with the corporate organisation providing them with financial assistance for the first team and also their development activities.

TRAU FC have already recruited six foreigners in the transfer window including the likes of Brazilian striker Marcel Sacramento and Ugandan defender Oguchi Uche. Apart from that, they have strengthened their Indian contingent by signing Abhinas Ruidas, Deepak Devrani, Abhishek Das and Denechandra Meitei.

The Khuman Lampak Main Stadium will host the home matches for TRAU FC and also NEROCA FC in the 2019-20 I-League. The new season is all set to kick-start on November 2.
