Argentina Coach Confident Messi Jerseys Will Overcome Paraguay's Shirt Ban

Argentina coach says that the rival jerseys ban will be overshadowed by Lionel Messi's jerseys in the upcoming South American World Cup 2026 Qualifier. The Paraguayan Football Association imposed this ban before the forthcoming match between Argentina and Paraguay.

Lionel Scaloni, the head coach of Argentina, is confident that Lionel Messi’s jerseys will be able to lift the ban imposed by Paraguay on the rival jerseys. His jersey is likely to make an appearance in the home section for the team, as they head over to the upcoming match for the South American World Cup 2026 Qualifier.

The Paraguayan Football Association (PFA) imposed a ban on the rival jerseys for the upcoming match which will take place at the Defensores del Chaco stadium. The association imposed a ban on the jerseys of Argentina Clubs, Argentina, and even the international players of the team, restricting the fans from wearing them during the game.

The Association manager, Fernando Villasboa, also discussed the necessity of this policy, which will help them boost the confidence of the Paraguayan crowd. In an interview, he said,“We won't allow the other team's shirt. It's not about Messi or any specific player. We respect the careers of all footballers. It's just that the home ground is very important to us.”

On the other hand, Argentina's Manager, Lionel Scaloni said,“Logically, for the Paraguayan footballer, for the fan, they all want to wear the national team shirt. But Leo is stronger than all that, and there will be Argentina shirts. It doesn't mean they don't support Paraguay. I think it's good that football people recognize what he is. And it's not because you have a shirt that you become an Argentina fan.”
