It has been reported that Real Madrid is looking forward to signing the “new Pedri” in a deal with FC Barcelona for the upcoming Transfer Window. When Pedri wasn't very popular, the team refused to take him to their squad, as he failed to meet the trial requirements.

Regarding his trials at Real Madrid, Pedri said in an interview that, “I went to try out with Real Madrid but they told me I wasn't at the right level. I thank those who told me that I wouldn't make it, now I am in the team that I have always loved. Putting on a Madrid shirt was strange, I have always gone with Barcelona's.”

He talked about this in 2020, when he received a breakthrough from the Barcelona team. The team bought him from Las Palmas in 2019 for a deal worth $ 5.2 million and it has proven to be one of the best deals done by them in the century.

Josep Bartomue, who is the current president of the team, had already overspent on some deals, due to which his deal for Pedri was considered as a balancing deal. The club's financial were affected to a great extent during the pandemic period.
