Liverpool Set for Record £165m Double Deal with Isak and Guehi

Liverpool have approved a £130m British record move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, while also targeting Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi for £35m. The deals would take Arne Slot’s summer spending to £466m, surpassing Chelsea’s £391m record. Newcastle eye Brentford’s Yoane Wissa as Isak’s replacement, with Harvey Elliott possibly involved in negotiations.

Liverpool had a £110 million bid for Isak rejected but are confident that Newcastle will now agree, with the striker left out of Eddie Howe’s squad after refusing to play against Aston Villa.

Isak, who has scored 62 goals in three seasons since joining Newcastle for £63 million, faces growing hostility from supporters and will again miss the upcoming clash with Liverpool. Meanwhile, Guehi, 25, has entered advanced negotiations with the Reds, with Palace’s chairman Steve Parish maintaining a strong relationship with Liverpool’s CEO of football Michael Edwards.

The Isak deal would not only see Newcastle double their money but also help them finance a move for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, valued at £60 million. With Liverpool expected to generate £230 million in sales this summer, Slot remains determined to make Isak the focal point of his squad rebuild despite signing Ekitike earlier.
