Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has resumed training after recovering from a hamstring injury in his left thigh. Lewandowski, who scored 42 goals in 52 matches last season, enters the final year of his contract.

After the disappointment of missing Barcelona’s opening fixtures, Robert Lewandowski has returned to training and is on course for a comeback in the upcoming La Liga clash against Levante. The Polish striker, who missed the Joan Gamper Trophy and the league opener against Mallorca due to a hamstring injury in his left thigh, took part in nearly a full training session on Tuesday. Though he sat out the final portion as a precaution, reports suggest he is confident about his recovery and eager to play a role in Saturday’s encounter.

Lewandowski’s return comes as a huge boost for Hansi Flick’s side, who are looking to build early momentum this season. At 36, the forward remains a vital figure in Barcelona’s attack, having scored an impressive 42 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign. That tally also saw him cross the landmark of 100 goals for the Blaugrana since joining the club in 2022.

Turning 37 on August 21, Lewandowski enters the final year of his contract, though Barcelona hold the option of extending it by another season. Despite speculation of a move to the Saudi Pro League, he looks set to stay in Catalunya and continue leading the line.
