During the January Transfer Window, Kasper Schmeichel was among the target lists of various teams but Celtic has extended his contract till 2026, which also shows the commitment of the player to the team. Ever since the Danish international goalkeeper joined the team in 2024, his performances have been impressive.

Schmeichel was able to play a crucial role in both domestic and in Europe, being a main player for the team. For Brendan Rodgers, he has been in the starting 11 for all the 34 matches played by Celtic in this campaign. He has also lifted a trophy with the team, playing an important role in the penalty shootout victory over Rangers in the finals of the League Cup.
