Rangers have signed 23-year-old Norwegian midfielder Thelo Aasgaard from Luton Town for around £3.5 million on a four-year deal. Aasgaard, who starred alongside Erling Haaland on his Norway debut with a goal and assist, is seen as a potential difference-maker by manager Russell Martin ahead of the Champions League qualifiers.

After the announcement of Thelo Aasgaard's £3.5 million transfer to Rangers from Luton Town, excitement has quickly built around the 23-year-old attacking midfielder. The former Liverpool academy player signed a four-year deal and brings both domestic experience and international pedigree, having impressed for Norway alongside stars like Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.

Notably, Aasgaard made an immediate impact on his senior international debut in March 2025, assisting the opener and scoring in a 5-0 World Cup qualifying win against Moldova. His performance earned high praise, with Haaland personally congratulating him on the pitch. Having been a regular for Luton in the second half of last season, Aasgaard now joins Rangers as part of Russell Martin’s major squad overhaul.

The new signings also include Joe Rothwell, Max Aarons, Emmanuel Fernandez, and Lyall Cameron. Martin praised Aasgaard’s hunger to win and improve, describing him as a player who can "make the difference in the final third." Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell added that Aasgaard had attracted interest across Europe and is seen as a long-term asset. With Champions League qualifiers against Panathinaikos looming, Aasgaard’s arrival gives Rangers a creative boost in their pursuit of silverware this season.
