After being the subject of transfer speculation for months, Marcus Rashford has now completed a medical at Barcelona ahead of a season-long loan from Manchester United. The 27-year-old forward arrived in Catalonia on Sunday evening and was welcomed by Barça manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco. Barcelona and United reached an agreement over the weekend, and Rashford has accepted a 25% wage cut, helping United save nearly £14 million in salary.

The loan deal includes an option to buy for £30.3 million (€35 million), giving Barcelona flexibility should Rashford impress. Rashford, who has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for Manchester United, had previously spent six months on loan at Aston Villa. This move to Spain aligns with Rashford’s desire for a fresh challenge after being sidelined under United boss Ruben Amorim.

He is expected to join Barcelona's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, where they’ll face FC Seoul, home to Rashford’s former teammate Jesse Lingard. Despite not being officially registered for La Liga yet, Rashford will be able to train and play in friendlies. With his arrival, Barcelona hope to revitalize their attack while Rashford looks to reignite his career in a new footballing environment.
