Harry Kane Voices Concerns Over Football Scheduling

England captain Harry Kane criticized the hectic football calendar, saying players aren't heard regarding scheduling issues. With England next window from 2-10 June and Bayern Munich Club World Cup commitments from 15 June to 13 July, Kane risks no summer break. He remains eager for silverware despite concerns echoed by Alisson, Akanji, and the PFA legal action.

When it comes to football scheduling, players' concerns are often overlooked, according to England captain Harry Kane. With the Premier League season ending on May 25 and the Champions League final on May 31, the next international window from June 2-10 leaves little time for recovery. Kane’s club, Bayern Munich, will also compete in the FIFA Club World Cup from June 15 to July 13, adding to his packed schedule. Despite this, the 31-year-old insists he loves playing and will manage his workload with his coaches.

Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Manchester City's Manuel Akanji have voiced similar concerns, with Akanji even considering early retirement due to the demanding calendar. The Professional Footballers' Association has legally challenged FIFA over the "overloaded and unworkable" schedule. England's new manager, Thomas Tuchel, agrees that players need at least three weeks of proper rest and suggests moving the June window.

Kane recently scored his 71st international goal in England's 3-0 win over Latvia, moving closer to Peter Shilton’s 125-cap record. Tuchel’s England squad will return in June for a World Cup qualifier against Andorra and a friendly with Senegal, sparking further debate on the scheduling issue.
