Arsenal have joined Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern Munich in trying to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, whose contract expires this summer. The 25 year old was seen chatting with Arsenal players after a cup tie, though City are the only club ready to pay in January. Liverpool previously had a 40m bid accepted. Palace must decide whether to sell or keep him while still in three competitions.

For the second half of the season, the Premier League transfer race for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is heating up with Arsenal reportedly entering the chase. The twenty five year old centre back is out of contract in the summer of 2026 which has drawn interest from several major clubs. Arsenal fans first sparked speculation after spotting Guehi deep in conversation with Noni Madueke, Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis Skelly following Palace’s recent Carabao Cup quarter final loss at the Emirates. Palace were knocked out 8-7 on penalties.

Arsenal would prefer to secure Guehi for free in the summer due to limited January funds, especially after committing to a forty five million pound buy option on Piero Hincapie’s loan. Manchester City are seen as the main January contender as injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias have opened up a gap in defence. City are also the only club willing to pay a fee mid season. Liverpool and Bayern Munich remain keen. Liverpool previously had a forty million pound proposal accepted last summer before it collapsed on deadline day. Bayern’s approach is backed by manager Vincent Kompany and England teammate Harry Kane who could help push the move.

Palace must weigh up cashing in now or keeping Guehi as they remain alive in the Premier League, Conference League and FA Cup. A strong bid from City in January could be decisive.
