Marcus Rashford remains a Manchester United player despite no summer signings, with his contract running until 2028. Barcelona chose not to activate the £26 million transfer option after his loan spell.
United have ruled out another loan to the Spanish club. Unless transferred, the 28 year old England forward will return for preseason after the World Cup.
As the summer transfer window moves forward, the future of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United remains uncertain despite the forward still being under contract until 2028. The 28 year old, who spent time away from Old Trafford, is once again a United player after Barcelona chose not to activate the £26 million option to sign him permanently. Rashford is currently representing England at the FIFA World Cup, and unless a transfer is completed before then, he is expected to report back for Manchester United's preseason training 3 weeks after his international campaign ends.
The club has also made it clear that it is not interested in sending him back to Barcelona on another loan deal. Although United have not completed any signings so far this summer, club officials remain relaxed about the situation. They point out that there are still 7 weeks before the opening Premier League match against Hull City and almost 9 weeks before the transfer window closes. Internally, there is confidence that new players will arrive before the deadline.
The club's focus is said to be on recruiting footballers who fit the team's style rather than simply bringing in high profile names. However, many supporters are growing impatient after last season's unexpected qualification for the UEFA Champions League, with fans hoping to see fresh additions before the new campaign begins.
