Lucknow Super Giants played its first IPL season in 2022 and were able to showcase impressive performances. The team finished at the 3rd spot in the league stages, with 9 wins in 14 matches. However, in the Eliminator match, they lost the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 14 runs, as Rajat Patidar from RCB smashed a century to help his team win. This time also, LSG lost the Eliminator match against Mumbai Indians by 81 runs, missing out on their opportunity to reach the finals once again.
