The 3rd day of the 3rd Test between India and West Indies ended without a ball being bowled after steady rain kept both teams in their pavilions. With 2 days remaining in the match, the hosts are trailing India by 246 runs in their 1st innings, and the chances of a result look remote at this point.

Brief Scores: West Indies 107/1 (Brathwaite 53*) trail India 353 all out (Ashwin 118, Saha 104, Rahul 50, Cummins 3-54, Joseph 3-69)

After batting out 47 overs on the second day of the third Test, the Windies batsmen would have hoped to take the innings forward on day three, but steady rains ruined their hopes. There had not been any weather interruption for the first two days, and the forecast for the day was for a clear afternoon, however, rain was the only constant presence at the Darren Sammy national cricket stadium on day 3. The match was called off before tea with the rains allowing no chance for the ground staff and the super soppers to keep the ground dry.

Earlier, India had posted 353 on the board in their first innings after Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha scored centuries. West Indies had finished the second day at 107/1, trailing India by 246 runs. With two days remaining, the match looks set for a draw after just 11 wickets fell on the first two days.
