Manish Pandey is set to replace Ajinkya Rahane for the Mumbai Test that will commence tomorrow after the batsman suffered an injury during today's practice session. Shardul Thakur has also been called up as Mohammed Shami looks like a doubt as he is still nursing a sore knee.

The BCCI medical team confirmed that both changes have been forced ones due to injuries suffered to the players.

India batsman Ajinkya Rahane sustained an injury during a practice session today when a ball struck him in the hand. The vice-captain has suffered an avulsion fracture on his right index finger as a result. The medical team confirmed that the Mumbai player will miss the remaining two Tests of the five-match Test series. Manish Pandey has been included in the team as a replacement for Rahane.

Mumbai medium pacer Shardul Thakur has been called on as a back-up for Mohammed Shami. The pacer has been nursing a sore knee and looks unlikely to play a part in tomorrow's match. The BCCI have, however, confirmed that the medical team is monitoring his progress and that they would take a decision about his participation before the start of the Test.
