Pakistan and Misbah-ul-Haq embarrass themselves by going for the worst review ever

In one of the worst calls of judgment in cricket, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq decided to challenge the umpire's decision on a supposed edge off a Mohammed Amir delivery. But when the replays were shown on the big screen, they were left red-faced - the ball was inches wide of David Warner's bat.

We usually see some pretty silly mix-ups between batsmen at the crease which lead to funny run-outs, but it is a very rare scenario were we see the bowling team make a ridiculous appeal for a catch when it is pretty obvious there was no edge at all.

We have seen Alastair Cook's blunder going for a pointless review for a catch in the fourth Test against India after listening to a Ben Stokes standing in the gully region. Just when we thought somebody couldn't make a worse judgement for an edge, Pakistan's skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed's decision to go for a review during the third day of the Boxing Day Test against Australia left us in fits of laughter.

In the fifth over of the day, pacer Mohammad Amir bowled a delivery to David Warner and immediately appealed thinking there was an outside-edge. But despite being unsure about a review, captain Misbah-ul-Haq went for the DRS after listening to keeper Sarfraz Ahmed. But the replays showed that there was at least one inch of gap between the ball and the bat when it passed Warner leaving the Twitterati poking fun at Pakistan for the appeal.
