Andre Russell to miss crucial KKR game against Gujarat
Right when the battle for the play-off spots is heating up, all-rounder Andre Russell will miss the action in Kolkata Knight Riders' crucial face-off against fellow contender Gujarat Lions tomorrow. Russell limped off the field during the match against RCB on Monday with a suspected leg injury.
Injuries have been the flavor of this IPL season, and the season's best all-rounder has fallen victim to it. Andre Russell had limped off during KKR's match against RCB, which his side had lost. KKR were sitting comfortably at the higher rungs of the table, but with 14 points from 12 games, and RCB entering the fray, they are in a spot of bother. They will need to win the Gujarat match if they wish to qualify directly without hoping for the cricketing gods to ensure the others do not.
