Gujarat Lions’ faltering IPL 2017 campaign was dealt a major blow after Dwayne Bravo was ruled out for the remainder of the ongoing tournament. Bravo, who missed the start of IPL 2017 with a hamstring injury he picked up while playing in the Big Bash League in December is likely to head home now.

Having undergone surgery after the hamstring injury, Bravo was recovering and it appeared that the West Indian would make a return to the side before the playoffs began. However, it now looks like Gujarat will have to continue without the services of the flamboyant all-rounder.

The news was confirmed by Gujarat Lions owner Keshav Bansal who used to Twitter to break the bad news to the Gujarat fans.

Bravo’s loss is a big one for the Lions, who have been struggling in the IPL thus far finding themselves at the bottom of the table with six games played. Bravo who has won the coveted purple cap in the past, was brilliant in the death overs last season, picking up 17 wickets, and it is one part of the game that the Lions are struggling with this season.
