Delhi Daredevils have named West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels as a replacement for Quinton de Kock for the remainder of IPL-10. South African wicketkeeper-batsman de Kock had been ruled out of the entire IPL following a finger injury that he sustained during the New Zealand tour last month.

Samuels, a veteran of 149 Twenty20 matches, previously played in the IPL for the now defunct Pune Warriors, scoring 132 runs and picking up nine wickets in 10 matches.

Twice World T20 winner, the stylish batsman was adjudged player of the final on both occasions. He had a base price of INR 100 lakhs during the IPL player auction in February but went unsold.

Samuels is expected to join Daredevils on April 29. Earlier, Daredevils brought Ben Hilfenhaus in place of JP Duminy, who pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons but didn’t declare a replacement for de Kock.
