Keeping to a wrist-spinner is one of the most challenging tasks in cricket, but MS Dhoni has successfully managed to ply his trade against two wrist-spinners at the same time. Today, his stumping of Asela Gunaratne off Kuldeep Yadav was a clear example of why he is still the best in the business.

What if I say you, MS Dhoni has defined the convention of wicket-keeping in his own way and is the “BEST” limited-overs wicket-keeper of ALL-TIME. While a debate on the topic has been an eternal one, his recent exploits have put every counter argument to rest. Today, once again, the former Indian skipper decided to wow the audience with another stumping that only he could have pulled off.

On the penultimate delivery of the 15th over, Gunaratne went for a hard sweep off a yorker length Kuldeep delivery and failed to get any sort of connection with the ball. After missing the ball altogether, he dragged his back leg out, by the smallest of margins, and that gave Dhoni a fraction of second chance to effect the stumping and he is not someone to miss such an opportunity. His rapid reflexes ensured that he hit the stumps before Gunaratne, who had his toe on the line, could get anything behind the line.

While the Lankan batsman was confident that he was safe, Dhoni was made it absolutely clear that he was gone and the third umpire just attested the same. The replays suggested that his back foot on the line when the bails are taken off and that was sufficient for the TV umpire to give his verdict on the giant screen – OUT.

A stunned Gunaratne couldn't believe the decision and kept looking back at his crease and it took him some time to realize the truth. But the crowd then went berserk in the applause of the genius of MS Dhoni.
