MS Dhoni rescues Jharkhand with a brilliant ton

MS Dhoni scored 129 runs off 107 deliveries to take Jharkhand to a total of 243 after they were struggling at 57/6 at one point against Chhattisgarh in their Vijay Hazare Trophy clash on Sunday at the Eden Gardens. Jharkhand then bowled out Chhattisgarh for 165 to claim a 78-run win.

Batting first, Jharkhand were reduced to 57/6 in the 20th over as Kant Singh and Pankaj Rao ran through their top order with the new ball. However, MS Dhoni came to their rescue with a brilliant knock of 129 runs and formed a crucial partnership of 151-run partnership with Shahbaz Nadeem, who scored 53, to take his team’s total to 243.

Dhoni hit 10 boundaries and 6 sixes in his innings before he was out off the last ball of the innings. His side then defended the total brilliantly as Varun Aaron and Nadeem picked up three wickets each to bowl out Chhattisgarh for 165 in the 39th over. The win takes Jharkhand upto third place in the points table of Group D.
