R Ashwin's reply to a critic shows why he is the smartest cricketer on Twitter
All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin put one of his critical followers in his place with a series of clever replies when he was accused of not supporting Tamil Nadu by not playing in the Ranji Trophy semis. The 31-year old is currently suffering with sports hernia after the Test series against England.
Half knowledge is always dangerous. And one of Ravichandran Ashwin's followers doesn't seem to have heard of the proverb. Currently, Tamil Nadu are playing Mumbai in the semis of the Ranji Trophy and Ashwin not playing in that fixture seem to have infuriated one his fans who went on to accuse the all-rounder on Twitter for not supporting his state team.
@ashwinravi99 wish U supported TN in the Ranji semis by playing. A Golden opportunity to win after decades. Lament skilled INTL players skip

But Ashwin, who had good enough reason to justify his absence, reminded his fan that he is just another human being who needs timely rest.
@BalaVenkat79 sir this is a human body that I live inside, not a machine.Kindly be compassionate.

Following this reply, the follower seemed to have realized his mistake and duly apologized for his previous tweet.
@ashwinravi99 point taken ashwin. I admire ur skills..hence the desperation 2 see TN win knowing you can lift the team to another level..

It was only after another of Ashwin's sensible follower's tweet did the previous fan realize that the 31-year old was indeed suffering from sports hernia which kept him out from taking part in TN's Ranji matches. And to Ashwin's credit, he took the alternate route of explaining about a cricketer's life rather than show his injury as an excuse for his absence.
@BalaVenkat79 @ashwinravi99 seems you didn't read the news where they mentioned Ashwin is having a sports hernia. That's why he didn't play

And who is to deny India's star bowler a well-deserved rest after such a scintillating performance against England where he took 28 wickets and scored 306 runs in five matches?
