During the first warm-up match between India A and England, a fan ran onto the pitch to touch MS Dhoni’s feet before the security guards could drag him off. Dhoni, who has recently stepped down as the limited-overs captain, scored a blazing knock of 68 runs as India A posted 304 in 50 overs.

After the end of the 46th over, a fan ran onto the field at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and approached Dhoni. The 35-year-old stretched out his hand to greet the fan, but the man bowed down to touch his feet before shaking Dhoni’s hands. The security guards arrived soon and took him off the field amid loud cheers from the crowd.

Dhoni, who relinquished his captaincy recently, is captaining the India A side for the first warm-up game against England before the three-match ODI series which starts on January 15.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first, but a century-run stand between Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Rayudu prepared the platform perfectly for Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni in the later stages of the innings. Dhoni played a blazing knock of 68 which included eight boundaries and two massive sixes.
