Watch : Batsman remains not out even after the ball hits the stumps

In a dramatic incident on Wednesday, Australia's Big Bash League saw the batsman remaining not out despite the ball hitting the stumps. In a match between the Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers at the Gabba, Heat's Alex Ross tried an audacious reverse sweep of Ashton Agar's bowling and missed the ball completely. The ball bounced off his forearm and before the batsman could put out a leg to stop it, the ball hit the stumps. But much to the bowler and the wicket-keeper's frustration, the bails were not dislodged leaving the Brisbane crowd amused.

Despite the lucky escape, Ross was unable to take Brisbane past Perth's target of 157 as they were all out for 129 runs in 19.2 overs. However, this does not come close to what Ashish Nehra was able to achieve in a match against South Africa. Not only did the Charl Langeveldt hit the stumps at pace, it deflected off the wicket and went for a boundary as well.
