Playing for Karnataka, against Baroda, in the quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Manish Pandey suffered an unfortunate run out at a mere score of 10 runs. Pandey’s bat got stuck in the pitch just when he was about to cross the line at the bowler’s end as the fielder removed the bails.

In the 18th over, Karnataka batsman Ravikumar Samarth nudged Lukman Meriwala onto the leg side and tried to convert a single into a double. Pandey, who was running towards the dangerous non-striker's end appeared to be comfortably making the crease but his bat got stuck in the ground. The 27-year-old was forced to let go of the bat and complete the run without the willow. Although almost three-fourth of his body was over the line, when Kedar Devdhar dislodged the bails at the bowler’s end, unfortunately, his entire body was in the air.

Karnataka were, eventually, bowled out for 233 in 48.5 overs, and Baroda easily chased down the target with seven wickets in hand in the 46th over thanks to a well made 78 by Devdhar.
