Every once in a while, a wicket-keeper takes a catch that a goalkeeper would be proud of. And it certainly seems to be that time of the year as, after Wriddhiman Saha, Quinton de Kock is the next one to defy gravity to dismiss a batsman. You can decide your pick by watching both the videos here.

They say catches win matches and this was certainly the case as South Africa’s wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock pouched a sensational catch to dismiss Neil Broom. The incident occurred off the bowling of Kagiso Rabada when De Kock produced a magnificent dive to give Rabada his second wicket, taking the ball just inches above the ground.

It was pretty simillar to the catch taken by Wriddhiman Saha in the recently concluded second Test against Australia in Bengaluru.

After de Kock’s scintillating effort, South Africa set themselves a target of 81 runs for victory, after folding New Zealand for 171, on the third day of the second Test at the Basin Reserve on Saturday. Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj ended with career-best figures of 6-40.

Earlier in the Test, South Africa had been bowled out for 359 in their first innings and Morne Morkel tore into the New Zealand batting lineup, taking the first three wickets. Maharaja bamboozled the New Zealand batsmen with his flight and variations of pace. Opener Jeet Raval top scored for the Kiwis before falling to Maharaja for 80.
