Former Aussie pacer Geoff Lawson has slammed Virat Kohli’s behavior so far in the ongoing series and said that he’s treading a very fine line after being caught using foul language on camera. However, despite his behavior, Lawson has said that Kohli is one of the best players in the world right now.

Geoff Lawson has torn into Indian skipper Virat Kohli, while speaking to Fox News saying that Kohli’s actions are that of “worst behaved player” and he must improve his behavior, being the captain of the team in the ongoing series.

Lawson was quoted as saying, "Well Virat’s consistent. You’ve got to give him that, he’s consistent. As a leader and as a captain of a cricket team where you’ve got lots of responsibilities, you’ve got to show more gravitas and responsibility than this. These sorts of actions are those of your worst behaved player.”

Lawson said, "Kohli is “treading a very fine line with the umpires” after he was caught swearing on camera during the second Test and is surprised that he wasn’t booked for the same. He also believes that Kohli wasn’t sent off only because “Send-offs are supposed to be against the code of conduct and he was certainly caught on camera using some bad language in the second Test match, I’m surprised he didn’t get reported. But he must be treading a really fine line with the umpires and match referees because you’re not supposed to give players send-offs.”

He also acknowledged that Kohli must improve his language by saying his language “has been pretty much unacceptable. And for a captain to then carry out a press conference and then just show so little diplomacy."

Having said all of the above, Lawson acknowledged, "Kohli’s worth as a player saying But he’s a great, great player. He’s one of the best players going around, but you’ve got to behave as a captain better than that.”

Virat Kohli has taken objection to Australian’s behavior on multiple occasions in the series far- both on and off the field. First, he accused them of breaking the DRS rule more than once and most recently claimed that the Australians had disrespected the Indian team’s physio.
