Kumble seeks 26% of BCCI revenue for players

Anil Kumble has sent an official proposal to the Committee Of Administrators (COA) regarding hike in the player's fees. The proposal has not been discussed as of yet but a report in the Mumbai mirror suggest that it is regarding equal share for players from every resource available to the BCCI.

With respect to the current contract, the players receive 26% of share from various sources of income of BCCI. The BCCI does not include shares from all the sources. The revenue generated from TV broadcast rights appears to be the main point of argument. The BCCI deducts 70% of the revenue and out of the remaining share the players receive their 26%. Kumble has proposed a straight 26% share of the total revenue generated, for the players.

The board's total income last year was Rs 1,365 crore. Kumble's proposal makes the players share of this income Rs 354 crore.

Moreover, under the current contract, the players do not receive any share from the BCCI's income from ICC. The income is projected to be at Rs 3000 crore over the next eight years and Kumble wants a share from this source of income too. 

BCCI and COA sources have confirmed receiving a proposal and the discussions began during the annual BCCI awards night held on 8th March 2017. Anil Kumble has sent a detailed report to the board for consideration and implementation.
