Mustafizur Rahman is unsure of participating in IPL-10 starting next month as he awaits clearance from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The left-arm fast-medium bowler has also been advised by his ODI captain to skip the IPL and focus on preparing for Bangladesh's long upcoming season.

Hyderabad Sunrisers have been dealt a blow even before they start their title defense. Although Mustafizur is certain to miss the first leg of the tournament, it appears that he may not feature at all this year. He is certain to be a big loss, as he played a starring role in winning the title last season, taking 17 wickets at an economy rate of 6.9.

"I have learnt a lot from the IPL, but I don't think I will be able to make it for the tournament this time around. I am waiting for permission from the Board," he was quoted as saying by The Sportstar., whilst making his tournament debut. Speaking to SportsStar on March 30th, Mustafizur was quoted as saying.

Mustafizur is currently a part of the Bangladesh team playing a one-day series in Sri Lanka.  And given that Bangladesh has a packed schedule in front of them, with the Champions Trophy coming up immediately after the IPL, the BCB is certain to call Mustafizur back early from the IPL even if he is given the permission to play for some time.

Mustafizur’s national skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has also advised him to skip the IPL and remain fit for national duty. Mustafizur said, "I am yet to get back my rhythm, so Mashrafe bhai had suggested that I should skip the IPL, I am seriously considering his advice. We have a long season ahead, and it is important that I remain fit. I am trying hard to regain the lost touch, but I am still not happy with my performance. Before the Ireland tour, I have to be absolutely ready."
