The current edition of the IPL has seen some incredible run outs along with some hilarious mix-ups but in the GL-DD game, it was Dwayne Smith's lazy running that cost him his wicket. Smith, ran the first 11 yards quickly before deciding to slow down and ended up falling well short of his crease.

Gujarat’s innings started on a good note with Ishan Kishan getting some boundaries early in the innings. While Kishan acted as the aggressor, Smith played second fiddle by just rotating the strike. However, on the first ball of the fourth over, Smith mistimed a pull shot to wide of short fine leg and Kishan set off for a quick single immediately.

But Smith was late in responding to his partner's call but decided to make a run for it. He ran half the length of the pitch quickly but then decided to slow down and started jogging off to the non-striker's end. Standing at short fine leg, Amit Mishra threw the ball at the bowler's end but the throw was not an accurate one as Shami had to readjust his position and throw the ball at the stumps. The West Indian even didn’t try to put in a dive, which might have saved him from the blushes.

The decision was referred to the third umpire and replays showed the full extent of Smith's "laziness" as he fell well short of his crease.
