The BCCI declared that the next round of the IPL title sponsorship would be for a five-year period. The tender process for it will begin on May 31, the media rights tender will start on July 17 and the Request for Proposal (RFP) for IPL Event Services will commence on June 12.

VIVO’s title sponsorship rights for the IPL ended with the final between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad last night.

"I'm pleased that both the governing council and CoA members have finalised the timelines for the next rights period. If the success of 2017 season is an indication, I believe we will be able to get the best value and service for the world's premier Twenty20 extravaganza," IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla told reporters.

"The early announcement will also help the prospective bidders/service providers to prepare well."

Vinod Rai, the chairman of the CoA, said, “I’m confident about the process and would like to assure all prospective participants the highest level of transparency and accountability.”

The multi-million dollar extravaganza completed 10 seasons this year. CSK and Rajasthan Royals, which were banned for a two-year period, will return next season. It is yet to be decided if the next season will feature 10 teams in the competition.
