India vs England | Match expected to start today as weather clears up at Lord’s
After the first day of the 2nd Test between India and England was called off due to a steady drizzle, news coming from Lord’s is that the weather has cleared up and the match will start today. There is no rain prediction for the next three days and only the fifth day may see the rain returning.
After a Test that would easily go down as one of the finest and most dramatic Test matches of the recent memory, Lord’s was expected to be a cracker of an encounter. There were numerous sub-plots and narratives attached to the game with everyone and their pet dog waiting for the London Test to begin. However, the excitement surrounding the game saw a sad beginning as the first day was entirely washed out by rain.
Although there wasn't too much rain during the day, it kept on drizzling for the entire duration, which forced the umpire to take lunch and tea early. But, the rain refused to stop till late afternoon that was the final nail on the coffin as the umpires for the match - Marais Erasmus, Aleem Dar, and Chris Gaffaney after a inception at 18:48 Local Time/ 21:18 IST called off the day.
However, in a good news for all the cricket fans around the globe, the rain gods eventually relented and the met department forecast claims that there is no rain expected for the next three days. But, London may see a steady downpour on Monday - the last day of the Test.
However, AccuWeather and myweather2.com predicted that there are drizzles expected between 12 PM to 5 PM today, which may affect the game. While 12 PM to 1 PM may see the rain relented for a bit, other parts of the day are supposed to be affected by the rain today.
