The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) will be taking charge of administering and managing BCCI until the new constitution is implemented. Only the selection committee and the Cricket Advisory Committees will act as per before with CoA having a complete administrative control.

Through an elaborate directive issued on Thursday, August 23, CoA will be taking complete control over the administration of BCCI until the new constitution given by Supreme Court is implemented. Until then, the administration will be headed by CEO Rahul Johri.

The situation came up, just two days after the BCCI registered the new constitution in the Registrar of Societies of Tamil Nadu at Chennai. According to CoA, the former previous constitution is no longer in effect. Hence, they felt it was justified to take over the administrative and managing sector of BCCI for the time being. Acting President CK Khanna, Acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary and Acting treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary are currently holding their positions without any effect.

“Except for the Cricket Advisory Committee and the duly reconstituted Selection Committees, all committees/sub-committees under the Old Constitution stand dissolved with immediate effect. In the event any urgent decision that cannot await the appointment of new committees/sub-committees in terms of the New Constitution is required to be taken, the same may either be taken by the Committee of Administrators or the Committee of Administrators may constitute an ad-hoc committee comprising of persons who meet the relevant criteria stipulated in the New Constitution to assist the Committee of Administrators in taking such urgent decision," the directive said.An apex council consisting of nine members has been formed to manage BCCI. In this, there are going to be five office bearers, a male and female member from the Player Association formed by BCCI, an elected member from the board and a member from CAG office.

It was further informed that any financial transactions will need to be approved by the CoA unless they are done by two of the six signatories. The office bearers have been notified to not expect payments from BCCI for any foreign travels. However, in case of an emergency, the CoA will form an ad-hoc Committee using its own discretion.
