The job is not even half done yet, says Virat Kohli as India go 3-0 up

India have never won a bilateral series against South Africa in the Rainbow nation and the Kohli-led side took a giant step towards changing it yesterday when the Men in Blue extended their lead to three wins in the six-match series, with three games remaining. Skipper Virat Kohli has played a huge role in all the three ODIs, where he has been batting at an average of 318 at the moment.

Though the unassailable lead has admittedly brought a sense of calm in the squad, Kohli feels that the job is far from over and he doesn't want to lose focus towards the latter half of the series.

"We have to make sure we're not letting our guard down because we worked really hard from that last Test to win four games in a row on a tough tour of South Africa. We are really proud of ourselves as a team. But I think the job is not even half done yet. Biggest positive out of today, with 3-0 up, is that there is no way we can lose the series now. That is certainly something that lifts the team even more. As I said we would have more intensity and more passion when we step out for the fourth game," said Kohli, as reported by PTI.

The 29-year-old skipper racked up his 34th one-day hundred yesterday when he became the Indian captain with most ODI tons, as Kohli(12) surpassed Sourav Ganguly(11). However, his innings was not as smooth as it generally is, as Kohli had to bring up 100 runs of his 160-run knock by singles and doubles, against a solid bowling attack. 

"International runs are never easy. They are hard earned. Some might come on more batting-friendly pitches, but I think with their attack, and the pace and bounce they were getting initially, you had to adjust your game. Then the wicket got considerably slower after the 30th over, so you had to again adjust your game, and make sure, with wickets falling also, that you continued adjusting through the innings," Kohli said.

India are set to take on South Africa in the fourth ODI on Saturday at the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg. A little more than a week ago, India managed to beat the South Africans at this stadium in the final Test match of the series, when the pitch faced a lot of criticism due to unexpected bounce.
