Mohammad Yousuf has advised Sarfaraz Ahmed to have a chat with MS Dhoni in order to overcome his poor form. The former Pakistan batsman believes that Dhoni can share leadership tips with the Pakistan skipper, who is struggling to cope with things after the recent ODI series loss to New Zealand.

Pakistan cricket team is having a horrid time on their New Zealand tour at the moment, where they are currently playing the limited-overs series. After getting thrashed in the five-match ODI series 5-0, the visitors have failed to start the T20I series on a winning note as well, losing the first of the three games by seven wickets.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz is going through a poor run of form as well as he could manage just only 79 runs in his last five innings. And former Pakistan captain Yousuf has advised Sarfaraz to talk to the former India skipper for his fitness and form issues.

"I think Sarfaraz needs to work on his fitness and skills a lot more. Unless he is in top form he can't expect the team to respond. Dhoni led India admirably in all three formats for a long time and performed not only as captain but also as a batsman and wicketkeeper. Sarfaraz can learn a lot from him," said Yousuf.

A successful skipper against all formats, Dhoni has also guided India to the Champions Trophy title like Sarfaraz and Yousuf believes will be the right person to help Sarfaraz. Dhoni has led the Indian side in 60 Tests, 199 ODIs and 72 T20I games and apart from Champions Trophy, has won India the World Cup, World T20 and Asia Cup titles during his captaincy tenure. He presents himself as a role model for most other players.

"Nothing wrong in giving Dhoni a call and chatting to him. He can give a lot of helpful tips to Sarfaraz on how to handle things because it is never easy when you are the keeper and also the captain," Yousuf said.

The former cricketer emphasized that Sarfaraz, who has played 38 Tests, 85 ODIs and 36 T20I so far, had to realize that he needs to improve his fitness a lot more.

"I see him on the heavy side and he has to now focus on his batting and keeping a lot more. Dhoni can guide him on how he achieved so much success and how he had handled the pressure of all responsibilities so well for so long".
