With fitness being a key factor in Ravi Shastri-coached team, the bar to pass the Yo-Yo test to be increased from 16.1 to 16.3. Recently, Sanju Samson was dropped from the India A side due to his failure to get minimum scores in the test conducted at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Ravi Shastri has made it evident that players need to raise their fitness standards to be a part of the Indian cricket team. Hence, the players who fail to attain the minimum score in the Yo-Yo test will not feature in the national side.

With tough overseas tours and World Cup in sight, Ravi Shastri wants Yo-Yo test bar to be raised from 16.1 to 16.3. The India ‘A’ team management and the national selection committee are also on board in this matter.

“Ravi has instructed that every player must pass the Yo-Yo test. He has taken the decision keeping in view the tough overseas assignments for the team, including next year’s World Cup," reported Reuters.

Clearly, fitness is the Indian team’s motto with captain Kohli leading from the front. Recently, Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson was dropped from India A squad after he failed the Yo-Yo test. His score was below the prescribed 16.1 mark.
