Maharashtrian batsman Ankit Bawne sounded confident of his preparations as he look forward to bat freely on India A's tour of England. India A will be starting their tour with a four-day match against England A, starting from July 16 at Worcester and two three-day matches against county sides.

India A tour of England will be the first prominent event for India A squad this year, and young Bawne has been confident of his preparations as he is looking forward play freely in England. Further explaining his preparations heading to the game, Bawne mentioned that he has been practicing vigorously on the bowler-friendly pitches at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

“Yes, absolutely (I am geared up) and the preparations have been done. Our camp and fitness tests were going on in Bengaluru. We are practising on bowling-friendly pitches in Bengaluru. Last week, my entire focus was on middling the ball and playing (against) swing bowling to the maximum (extent) with the help of the bowling machine," Bawne said to PTI.

Bawne is, however, not a new name in the India A Squad. Before this, he has contributed in matches against South Africa A and New Zealand A as playing eleven. This time he is inclined to perform more as a form of expression rather than under any undue pressure. Further, he has sought for mentors in Kiran More and W V Raman. He will be hoping to stick to the mindset that he has while playing Ranji Trophy match when he would be facing England as well.

“I am thinking that I will try and express myself. If it is my day, maybe I will get a century. This is good opportunity and it will be nice experience to bat in England and face some quality bowlers," explained Bawne.

“I will play that game in the same way I play in the Ranji trophy, where I want to perform, without taking pressure of selection (for the national team),” he further mentioned.
