India should become a sports-playing nation as healthy competition is always good, says Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar has stated that India is a sports-loving nation but should evolve to become a sports-playing nation. The Master Blaster has further explained the importance of mental and physical fitness and how it is important to lead an active lifestyle in order to stay fit and healthy.

Sachin Tendulkar is now a legend who lives in every Indian’s heart and he is a huge role model to many cricket fanatics. At a recent inauguration event of the SMAAASH centre at Seawoods Grand Central Mall, he expressed his view on how India is a sports-loving nation but the country should transform itself into a sports-playing nation.

"I always mention that India should become a sports-playing nation. We are a sports-loving nation but we need that transformation where we start playing. Healthy competition is always good," Sachin said at the function in Mumbai.

"Physical fitness and mental fitness combined together,makes a healthy man. I remember when I was a kid, my grandmother telling me health is wealth," he added.

Later, the master blaster addressed a huge crowd at the mall and explained the importance of leading an active lifestyle. He encouraged people to adopt a sport and play it on a regular basis as a fit and healthy India is more reason to celebrate.

"It feels like to be back in the stadium. To lead an active lifestyle is really important. I just want to tell you that adopt some or the other sport and play regularly. It is going to keep you fit and healthy. Fit and healthy India will have more reasons to smile," Tendulkar signed off.
