I will be surprised if Virat Kohli doesn’t sledge, says Pat Cummins
Australian pacer Pat Cummins has been of the opinion that Virat Kohli is a very passionate cricketer and he would be surprised if the Indian captain chose not to sledge. India are in Australia for a long tour where Kohli and company has a glorious chance of rewriting history.
India will start their journey down-under with the shortest format on November 21st. The match will be followed by two more T20Is, a four-match Test series and finally, the tour would conclude with a three-match ODI series. The Australians, who have just lost the ODI series and the only T20I against a visiting South African side, has started building up for the stern test against India and pacer Pat Cummins has stated that he would be surprised if the Indian skipper didn't sledge.
"I think I heard him say in the media the other day he won't, but I'll be surprised if he doesn't," Cummins told Fairfax Media.
The Indian skipper has been in a sublime form in all the formats of the game be it at home or away as he has been piling up runs for fun. Apart from scoring big runs, Kohli also has a reputation of not mincing his words. Though the reputation has been toned down a bit after he took the captaincy responsibilities, the Australians don't think he would stop during the tour.
"He's so competitive, he really thrives on that. We'll hold our ground; we're going to be competitive and all those things. We wouldn't treat him differently to any others. I think you'll see a lot of passion from both sides but nothing super fiery like we saw against India a couple of years ago," he added.
On the preparation front, the pacer also stated that he would try to give his best and revealed that he was all fired to put in his 100%.
"To be honest, I do what works best for me. It's getting myself fired up or getting myself focused, it's more getting the best out of myself than trying to put a batsman off or anything."
