Funny things often happen in the game of cricket and for that, it doesn't need to be at the international level. While the India-Australia T20 series is of course giving some good cricket, Irfan Pathan created one moment of madness by running behind the wicket to appeal for an LBW dismissal.

Try thinking Pathan unleashing those lethal curve of his late swing in the morning of a Test match and if you happen to be a fan started watching the game in the late 1990s or in the early 2000s, you must have had a great memory of the pacer. However, a number of factors, including a change in action and continuous injuries, meant he never really reached his full potential and confined to bits-and-pieces roles in IPL and Ranji Trophy.

However, as he took over the role of mentor and player in Jammu & Kashmir after being dropped from the Baroda team, there is a new passionate and fresh Irfan Pathan on display. And in the third round Ranji Trophy match against Tripura at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar, the left-armer brought the sense of purpose to the team and bowled with elan as well. While in the first innings, he picked up two wickets, he was unplayable at other instance too. However, that was not the part he remembers from the game.

In a particular delivery, Irfan bowled a full ball that struck the batsman’s pads and he started appealing for the wicket. Despite the umpire was not interested, he kept on appealing and in the process, even crossed the batsmen to go behind the stumps to do the same. It made for a really funny watch and that amused Pathan later as he put the video up on his Instagram handle too.
