India have refused to play on Pakistan soil in the upcoming Asia Emerging Nations Cricket Cup in December citing safety and security concerns which could put players in danger. Instead, Sri Lanka will play host to all India matches as the final is also scheduled to be played in Colombo.

Pakistan will host a total of six matches of the Asia Emerging Nations Cricket Cup after BCCI refused to let Indian players travel to Pakistan to play matches. As per PTI reports, a Pakistan Cricket Board official revealed that the Indian governing body refused to send its team to Karachi or Lahore for the tournament which will feature the best emerging talent from Asian countries.

The official further added that India will play their matches in Sri Lanka while the final is also played in Colombo. Bangladesh, UAE and Hong Kong are in the group with Pakistan for the Karachi leg of the tournament meanwhile Sri Lanka, India, Afghanistan feature in the second group in Colombo.

The PCB official said that three matches would be held at the National Stadium even though it is undergoing a massive renovation and three games at the Southend cricket stadium.

“A proper security plan has been prepared for the visiting teams and they will be given top security throughout their stay in Karachi from December 4 to 10,” the official said.

Another official of the board said that the Emerging Nations Cup was another chance for Pakistan's governing body to showcase its ability to provide top security for international cricket teams on home soil.
